The cave of ideas

An Adonis was found dead in the streets of Athens. His former mentor at the Academy uses the services of a sleuth Herakles Pontor the solve mysteries .The philosopher Plato and that Hercules Poirot in antique working passionately to find the truth and, incidentally, as the culprit. For the philosophical jousting is superimposed on the police investigation, while the crimes are linked.
The history of these crimes is also the story of a translator transcribes a manuscript before our eyes, thinking annotating tirelessly to enlighten, not knowing that his destiny is to establish the character of literature on hand philosophy, fiction show that only contain all the truths of the world.
In England,
The Cave of Ideas has won the Gold Dagger Prize.

The Cave of Ideas is a very strange book, there is first a traditional investigation, with a corpse, a sleuth, and a well-crafted plot. Then we realize that several investigations overlap ....
But it is also, above all, a literary and philosophical questions, interspersed with set abyss successive and overlapping, which gradually lead to an outcome for the least surprising.

A novel full of references, literary, philosophical, and references in the references, in a circular motion a bit overwhelming but quite pleasing. You will understand the literary classics and souls will find this book completely enjoyable.
The author is both a detective, translator, writer, philosopher. He enjoys making pictures and images in the images.

It is a magnificent literary exercise, which reveals a stunning mastery of writing and design of a plot.
The characters are double, inside and outside, in this game growing alternating text and footnotes page, which are themselves part of the text completely.
Clearly totally yum yum ...!!!
