The Nazi and the Barber, Edgar Hilsenrath

Note to those who love literature irreverent, crazy, weighed, zany, grotesque.
To those who love the jokes, slapstick, the limit on sulfur provocative ... You will be served!!
Author: E Hilsenrath GDR is known for his book "fuck america" an autobiography totally crazy.
He repeated this time with this novel written in the late 60s. At the time this book publishers disturbed.
It was not kidding with the Holocaust. We could use the comic even though it was to better
understand the mechanisms of the horror ... After some years of wandering he gradually becomes a
bestseller.
Synopsis: This farce begins a few years before the war. The narrator, Max Schulz, a character
unpleasant but strangely endearing, apprenticed as a barber with his Jewish friend Itzig.
A few years later he became an SS convinced cheerfully participates in the killing of Jews (including his friend).
After the defeat, he assumes the identity of his friend and becomes convinced tripper ..
Impressions: The bet was risky. The subject might seem very border-line. Edgar Hilsenrath succeeded yet
never cross the boundary. A paved political delusional when the author takes a lot of freedom
both in the story that in terms of style and good taste ...
To our delight. The author has fun and we also ...
On the same theme as "the Kindly Ones" but much more enjoyable!

The hypnotist

Author: Lars Kepler is a pseudonym that hides a couple of writers Ahndoril Alexander and Alexandra. This is their first book but probably not the last. They already prepare the following ....

The story: One night, Erik Maria Bark, is awakened at night, he should hypnotize the only surviving witness of a terrible carnage. This technique may allow to recover a memory, a track ...

Impressions: The Swedes are clearly the master of suspense ... The plot is complex and will hope to bounce surprises. I think you'll be seduced by the subtlety of psychological analysis and the mystery that generates hypnosis, new method in vogue in our thrillers .... Only drawback, the hero is not very nice. The authors nevertheless chose characters with personalities present ... (Sometimes many!) The hero is a little lackluster, not very brave and did not seem to have great feelings ..
But for a start ... I say: Bring on!

The Man from London, Simenon

Author: prolific writer of the mid-twentieth century. He is the inventor of the popular Inspector Maigret which he wrote 72 episodes. Then he began to write his "hard novels" as he calls that man is part of London. Many of his novels have been adapted for film and television

History: Maloine lives a simple and monotonous. He sees the world through the windows of the tower routing, each similar to the previous night but he seems to have accepted ... But one night his life changed ... He is the witness in spite of her murder. There he is confronted with sin, the moral punishment. He becomes an accomplice to the crime of another. In possession of a huge sum of money he could change his life. But that damn suitcase makes him lose his innocence. He touches his finger buried desires of freedom and happiness of the things he could never do. And all this scares him ...

Impressions:
Presented by Clemence first p'tit dej literature, I read this book in one sitting.Simenon is one of the favorite authors of his generation who can handle the suspense and reflection. With a simple plot, the author leads us to reflect on the meaning of our lives ...
I had the feeling of reading a light version of crime and punishment, that envy and guilt can lead man to do ...

Urkas!, Nicolai Lilin

Itinerary of a perfect bandit Siberia. This autobiographical novel shows us the world of the Russian mafia. Under this name hides many ramifications. The author is one of the bandits who were deported to Siberia by the communists in Transnistria, where they have managed to maintain their "traditions" and their "values".
The author has his own knife is 6 years old, he knows his first arrest at 13, prison is a rite of passage for these professional criminals ...

Impressions : The author likes to tell his story, the stories in the stories are legion. The book is a bit disjointed ... However, I was fascinated by this world totally unknown to me. He writes at length the traditions and lifestyle of these "bad guys" from father to son but (and these are the words of the "grandfather") "bandits honest" ..
Despite widespread violence, the author recounts her childhood: a lot of nostalgia and sweetness (in a world of big brutes) filter through the lines. We feel that the author admires deeply the world from which it comes.
These bandits obey God, their weapons (they place alongside icons) and their families ..
Ultimately good people??

Heart regular, Olivier Adam

Author: D ince the publication of her first novel 'I'm fine do not worry, "Olivier Adam became a writer must. In 2004, he won the Goncourt for his new" spend the winter. " Author magnet psychology as well as social facts, he was influenced by American literature.

The story: Sarah has a perfect life. Her husband is "perfect" and her two Gentile children share their lives in a house perfect for a middle class neighborhood. After the death of her brother she went on the run in Japan where his brother had taken refuge. She is especially looking for herself, she flees a life so mundane and so steady. Maybe she tries to escape by running away ...

Impressions: When reading the first pages they were not very good. The author also seems to seek, the descriptions are cumbersome, very heavy style. And then ...moods of Mrs. ... How to say ... there's more serious is not it??
Finally, after about thirty pages, the style is locked into, and we let the poetry that emerges from the pages. He describes the loneliness of people, mourning the grayness of everyday life. But also hope that we can find in the small beautiful things in life .. It is probably for this reason;;; novel is despite what I think a good book to read in enjoying the atmosphere a bit sad.
Despite this and although I know I'm going to grieve over a uh it's a bit repetitive themes right now! Neurasthenics on sea!

The melancholic and poetic souls will probably love it, not me!

Maud Lethielleux, where I am I see the moon

Author: Maud Lethielleux is a musician and director. After much traveling she wrote Say yes Ninon by Stock in 2009. From where I am I see the moon is her second novel.

History: Moon is a young girl who chooses to live in the street, accompanied by his dog malice, well protected on its cover at the corner of a florist. It can quietly dreamed, thought, beloved in the sight of the moon. One day she decided to write out of love for his friend in Fiji, with his words to her, a notebook stolen. Without knowing all the words that grace may be the moon.

Impressions : I had the feeling of reading the little match modern version. Failing matches moon sells smiles, as his author elsewhere. Many of simplicity and purity in this story probably a little autobiographical. The writing does not look great phrases and literary effects. Handled by the freshness and clarity of Maud Lethielleux you are likely to find yourself in the nose as the moon a smile on your lips ....

Houellebecq, metamorphosis ..

Author: Author of elementary particles or of Platform , Michel Houellebecq is a writer missed the French literary landscape? His works are always controversial, the writer magnet shocked by descriptions fairly hardcore sex ... and very pessimistic vision of the contemporary world.
So much for the old Houellebecq, a character not very nice, but obsessed with wielding the pen as a person.
I do not know if this gentleman has been in therapy or if he was finally able to overcome its old demons, but this description is valid at all for his new novel ..

History: Jed, a Parisian artist will know the success with its appeal to Michelin maps.In his travels he meets Beigbeder Michel Houellebecq and ask to write something for his catalog ... It also crosses a Jean-Pierre Pernaud amazing but I say no more read it!

Impressions: This is arguably his best novel, no sex gore here, just gastronomy "hardcore". What has happened to him?? Her character itself is described with great modesty "a loner who stinks a bit." The irony is everywhere, never mean, style and descriptions are beautiful .. What a pleasure to read this book. I felt reading of Michel Deon, with something extra, a nice cynicism author appeased ...
